The campaign simply is to inspire people to try new things and add more fun to their lives. It has feelings around the edges slightly to the type of campaign that is usually pushed by Royal Caribbean International and their “nation of why not” the concepts seem very similar but Carnival is really pushing their ships out so to speak and building a campaign that could change the face of Cruise Ship travel for its passengers for many years to come.
Senior Vice president and chief marketing officer for Carnival Cruise Lines, Jim Berra had the following to say

"The 'Didja Ever' campaign is all about sharing and fulfilling firsts, so Carnival's page on Facebook made perfect sense to be our home base for people to share, track and cheer others on," said Roger Baldacci, EVP, executive creative director of Arnold Worldwide, the advertising agency that developed the campaign with Carnival. "We're bringing elements of the participatory fun experienced by guests on Carnival's vessels to anyone who wants to build a list of things they've always wanted to do and maybe get a little help to make it happen."
The campaign is being pushed across the entire USA and will feature ad placement during prime time shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and Extreme Home Makeover.
