- Dining: A variety of grill rooms, some limited to those in a certain class of accommodation, plus the two level Britannia dining room for Britannia class passengers, and the Verandah pay-extra premium dining venue, along with some more casual eateries. Three course lunch in the Verandah charged at $20 pp, three course dinner is $49.95 pp. In addtion, Kings' Court each evening offers five multi national dining options, all priced at $17.50 pp. These are: Aztec (Mexican), Bamboo (Pan-Asian), Coriander (Indian), La Piazza (Italian) and Smokehouse (American). Golden Lion and Carinthia Lounge are complimentary casual venues.
- Family amenities: Believe it or not, there are nannies. Children are divided by age and taken care of (by those nannies) in age banded venues. While there can be several hundred children on board during the school holidays, they are often seen and not heard which pleases many of those who don’t have children
- Top accommodation: The Balmoral is a duplex which has a fantastic wooden king-sized bed and double bathrooms as well as a large balcony which is oddly overlooked by other suites
- Entertainment and facilities: A RADA based theatre company is featured in the Royal Court theatre – the David Tennants and Helen Mirrens of the future could be found here. The Planetarium is wonderful as is the library which is well-stocked and beautifully designed
- Tipping: A minimum of around £5 ($11) a day is added to shipboard accounts for all passengers and there’s a mandatory 15% on bar tabs
